In this retelling of the story of Abraham, based on Genesis 12-21, children will enjoy the bright and bold illustrations and the words which describe how Abraham and his family felt as they traveled far to strange lands and awaited God's promises. Certain parts of the story, difficult for preschool children to understand, have been omitted, but the the simple message that Abraham trusted and obeyed God even when it was difficult, remained in tact. Abraham believed God and eventually had a son, just like God promised. This is a great Sunday School story to read for Father's Day. |

The term "Sacrubery Woods" means "Sacred Woodlands", about a wilderness full of wonderful and mysterious flora and fauna in a world called Gladis. The people are small, bold, and outgoing creatures called furzees. At the heart of the sacred woodlands lies the most spectacular waterfall, which, to furzees is like coming to the most holy place.
This story transcends time and culture. This world was paradise until deceitful invaders creep in. These invaders caused families to feud and once peaceful weather patterns to become disastrous. Will peace once again be restored? Justice and mercy do have to meet at the foot of the waterfall, and one furzee has to lay down his life if the world were to know peace again.
For children ages 7-12, but adults would also love the allegorical themes woven throughout.

Bluebell never held onto the fact that she was just a little bird-brain, but always showed an interest in greater things. Her personality held an example of zest and optimism for all of us to learn from, which brings us back to the Bible and, using these same attributes, encourage us to live our lives closer to God and to the fullest. Whenever you are feeling down and have self-doubts, just remember this little bird, and you will find encouragement every time. |
